While I take a very deep breath and come to terms with the massiveness of the adventure I’ve had, I share with you a song I wrote and recorded in El Hierro, Canary Islands ago. Many months ago, on the other side of the Atlantic, I glimpsed a night rainbow, something I didn’t even know existed until it was in the sky above me. The moon was full and pre-departure magic was in the air. It seems so long ago.
However I didn’t release the song because for some reason, it just didn’t feel ready. Then I met Eduard de Vries on the island of Bonaire; an extremely talented tenor saxophonist. He improvised over the chord progressions and came up with what I think is a perfect solo. He then had his friend master the whole track, and here is the result. I’d like to say a huge thank you to Eduard for his help.
Meanwhile, I am relaxing in Red Frog Marina, Bastimentos, Panama. I am enjoying hot water, tumble dryers, and just not moving for a while. I hope you enjoy my old/new song…click below.
